Here are 5 tips that will protect your mouth, teeth and gums!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why You Shouldn\u2019t Overlook Nutrition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout a normal day, your teeth and gums are bombarded by\ndifferent types of foods, the debris they can leave behind and the bacteria\nthey attract. These types of foods are also\ngreat for your gums because they contain a protein called casein, which helps\nto neutralize oral acids that cause tooth decay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #3 \u2013 Make Green Leafy Vegetables a Priority<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another way to boost your oral health through nutrition is\nby eating more green leafy vegetables. A significant benefit is they contain vitamin\nC and vitamin K, the combination of which reduces inflammation and encourages\nthe growth of more red blood cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #4 \u2013 Onions for Better Oral Health?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While it may seem odd for onions and excellent oral health\nto be mentioned in the same sentence, the maligned round vegetable is highly\nbeneficial for protecting your gums and teeth. Scientists have discovered onions\nhelp to neutralize oral bacteria, which is a key part of preventing dental\nhealth issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To overcome any unwanted smells, you should be sure to brush\nand floss your teeth after every meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #5 \u2013 The Big Benefits of Eating Shiitake Mushrooms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only do shiitake mushrooms add loads of flavor to a\nmeal, but they also help to fight oral bacteria using a special counter-agent\ncalled lentinan. Because they breed in hard-to-reach places, the bacteria can\nbe difficult to access.
